Basmati Export FAQs

What is the difference between steam and sella (parboiled) basmati?

Steam basmati is steamed after milling, keeping a bright white grain and delicate texture. Sella basmati is parboiled in the husk, which hardens the grain, retains nutrients, and makes it almost impossible to overcook — ideal for restaurants and catering. Golden sella gets its colour from the parboiling process, not from any additive.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ) for basmati rice export?

Our standard MOQ is one 20-ft FCL container (approximately 18–20 MT). For private-label retail packs we can discuss smaller trial shipments depending on destination and packaging.

Which packaging options do you offer?

Consumer packs from 1 kg to 10 kg and bulk bags of 25–50 kg, in BOPP laminated, non-woven, PP and jute bags. We support full private-label packing with your brand, artwork and destination-language labelling, including Arabic labels for GCC markets.

How is your basmati rice aged and quality-checked?

Our basmati is aged 12–24 months for cooking performance, Sortex colour-sorted for uniformity, and every batch is lab-tested for moisture, purity and pesticide residues, with a certificate of analysis (COA) issued per shipment.

Which ports do you ship basmati rice from, and on what terms?

We ship primarily from Nhava Sheva (Mumbai), Mundra and Chennai on FOB, CFR or CIF terms. Payment is typically by irrevocable letter of credit (LC) at sight or agreed advance/balance terms for established buyers.
